Who is Cindy Busby?

Reveel Spotlights of the Week

Recognize that woman above? You may know her as Ashley Stanton from Heartland, Rebecca Jennings from Cedar Cove, or Elizabeth Scott from Unleashing Mr. Darcy. Cindy Busby has been an actress in Hollywood for more than two decades now and she has a long list of film and TV credits to prove it.

Not only is she a talented actress, but Cindy is also one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet! If you aren’t familiar with Cindy, then you’re in for a treat because Jennifer Silliman has invited Cindy Busby onto Hearts of Stars to share her fun personality. The two have an adventurous hike to the Hollywood sign where they discuss Cindy’s adventurous Hallmark movie, Marry Me in Yosemite. So, how did Cindy Busby get started in the acting biz? Well, we’ve got a convenient, brief biography of Cindy right here so you can get to know her amazing story!

Cindy Busby’s Early Life

Cindy was born in 1983 and grew up in Montreal, Quebec. Cindy knew she had a passion for acting ever since she learned how to count. After performing in various elementary and high school plays, she followed her passion to theater school. Cindy then got an agent and snagged her first minor role in 1999.

Career

Cindy got her first major role as Lisa in the mini-series Bethune in 2006. And only a year later, she achieved a career-defining moment by getting to play Ashley Stanton on the wildly successful show Heartland. The role launched her career to new heights and she started to appear in many more television shows and movies. Cindy stayed with Heartland for seven seasons until 2014. That same year, Cindy joined the Hallmark family with the movie Lucky in Love. Cindy is still with Hallmark to this day along with our favorites Ryan Paevey, Tyler Hines, and Andie MacDowell!

Why Did Cindy Busby Leave Heartland?

Ashley Stanton in Heartland is a spoiled rich equestrian and horse trainer. The character’s time on the show came to an end in season four along with her main character arc. Ashley returned to the series in the seventh season for one last appearance before sadly departing for good. It’s unclear why Cindy decided to leave the show, but it was likely due to wanting to pursue other acting opportunities. Cindy has always held her experience on the show in high regard and expressed that she wouldn’t mind returning to the show!

Is Cindy Busby Married in Real Life?

Despite the chemistry Cindy has with her co-stars in rom-coms, the actress is not married to an actor. Cindy got hitched to producer Chris Boyd during the craziness of 2020. They had been in a relationship for four years and decided to tie the knot in December. Cindy and Chris keep their lives private but have a happy family of three including their cute chihuahua.
