For those of you who are unfamiliar with the story, “Pride and Prejudice” is a classic romantic novel written by Jane Austen and first published in 1813. The book follows the story of Elizabeth Bennet, a young woman living in 19th-century England.
Elizabeth Bennet is a dynamic protagonist who learns about the repercussions of hasty judgments and comes to appreciate the difference between superficial goodness and actual goodness. The novel has been adapted into numerous film and television adaptations, but this new theatre musical brings a fresh take on the beloved story.
Paul Gordon, the Tony Award nominee behind Broadway’s Jane Eyre, brought to life a new musical adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride & Prejudice in 2019. Robert Kelley, the Founding Artistic Director of TheatreWorks, directed the musical production and Dottie Lester-White created the engaging choreography.
