Growing Up
Lauren spent her childhood living in both America and England. Born in Philadelphia, she grew up in New Jersey until she was 13 years old. Lauren then moved to Surrey England with her family. She eventually went to the University of Winchester where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Drama and English Literature.
Lauren credits her time in college working at a theater company as a huge reason she became an actress. She even co-founded a theater company in college that ended up going on tour. Lauren’s first role in a feature film was in 2005 as Sister Beatrice in Casanova, which then began her acting career.
Lauren Cohan Movies and TV Shows
Casanova was Lauren’s first movie, but Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj was her first major role in a feature film. In 2007, Lauren made her television debut with a minor role in The Bold and The Beautiful. She continued to snag small roles in television shows until 2008 when she landed a major role in the feature film Float. Float is about Ray Fulton, a 55 year old owner of an Ice Cream shop, who separates from his long-time wife and decides to move in with his two bachelor employees. As a result, all are forced to reassess their priorities.

Other than Float, Lauren had mostly minor roles in various television shows until 2011 when she booked a role in the hit AMC show The Walking Dead. Lauren was brought on in the second season and is still on the series for the final season airing in 2022.
After The Walking Dead, Lauren’s career took off. In 2016, she was in the title role in the horror movie The Boy. She also played the iconic role of Martha Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The following year, she was in All Eyez on Me, a biopic about rapper Tupac Shakur.
Lauren Cohan Gets a Walking Dead Spinoff
The Walking Dead has gotten multiple spinoffs, with the most recent one being focused on Maggie and Negan’s characters. The spinoff is called The Walking Dead: Dead City and it will be a six episode adventure taking place on the island of Manhattan.
12 years ago, the government made the decision to abandon Manhattan and let it be overrun by walkers. To keep them out, they destroyed all of the bridges and tunnels. Maggie and Negan will journey into the abandoned Manhattan in hopes of finding a small group of survivors living within the city. The series will air on AMC in 2023.
