On The Walking Dead, Daniel Bonjour made an appearance in the 5th season as Aiden Monroe. He was a recurring character for three episodes before his character was brutally killed in one of the most gruesome deaths in the entire series. Daniel was also a regular on iZombie for most of season 4 as Levon Patch.

2. Daniel Bonjour Directed and Starred in After The Rain

Viewers may be surprised to know that Daniel Bonjour not only was the main actor in After The Rain but was also the director of the film as well. This was his first time taking on the role of director and he did an amazing job pulling out the gut-wrenching performances in the film.

3. The Story Was Based on a True Story

The story in After The Rain was not completely fiction. In fact, it was inspired by the real-life story of Ryan James Russell, the screenwriter of After The Rain, and his previous battle with cancer. This is why the main character’s name is Ryan in the feature film.

4. Daniel Bonjour is Married to Jelly Howie

Jelly Howie plays the romantic interest of Daniel Bonjour’s character, Ryan, in After The Rain. The two have great on-screen chemistry and that was the beginning of a real-life love story according to TV Over Mind. The couple went on to get married in 2014, had a child in 2018, and are still going strong today.

5. Jelly Howie was Vermillion #1 on Legion

Legion is an FX TV series with many bizarre and colorful characters. One of those characters is the Vermillions, a group of mustached androids with a homogeneous appearance. Jelly Howie plays one of the main Vermillions and makes an appearance in 8 episodes in season 2.

6. Daniel Bonjour Lost Weight For The Role

After The Rain was a low-budget passion project which means they did not have access to CGI or other Hollywood magic to make things look a certain way. In order to look like the main character was diagnosed with a terminal illness, Daniel lost over 30lbs to make himself look gaunt and sick. He delivered an amazing performance and the weight loss added to the authenticity of the film.

7. After The Rain Was Filmed Through The End of 2011

Daniel Bonjour’s feature film began filming in December 2011. They wrapped production in January 2012. The film was originally titled Reach but was eventually changed to After The Rain. After post-production and festival runs the film had a major public release in 2016.

8. Actor Steve Franken Gave His Last Performance in the Film

This fact isn’t that fun but Steve Franken is an actor with a long history in the industry going back to the 50s. There are many credits to his name including Westworld, The Party, and The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. After The Rain, sadly, was his final film before his passing in 2012 at age 80.
